SUBJECT, RULE AND MAXIM. The Subject. Young and old — Cough and cold — Under the mould — Their story told! The Golden Eule. Not to succumb, ’Mid life’s busy hum. When sore throats come, Take Benjamin Gum ? The Maxim. Hallowed by time ;* Used by young and by old; Its maxim ih rhyme Good as gold Eor a cold! * Benjamin Gum contains the principles of Friars’ Balsam, rendered suitable for internal use for the cure of all chest complaints, however serious. Friars’ Balsam was used as far back as 1315 a.d. in the monasteries and convents of Europe, and is a household remedy to this day. I have been a chemist and druggist for fifteen years, and I can honestly and earnestly say that no medicine compares with it in healing qualities. It is my aim to make Benjamin Gum known all over the world. Try it when you catch cold, and you will find that this is no idle ambition. Ask for Benjamin Gum. Price Is 6d. Chemists and Stores. SPENCER VINCENT, Practical Chemist. [Advt.] Christchurch and Sydenham.
One of the most curious sights in England is the cemetery of the Duchess of Newcastle’s favourite dogs at Oatlands Park, Surrey. There are now no fewer than sixty buried there, and each dog is honoured with a separate tombstone and inscription.
