AUSTRALIAN JOCKEY CLUB, Third Day.

The weather was glorious for the third day’s racing of the Australian Jockey Club’s Autumn Meeting, and the attendance was large. The fields for the majority of the events were small, but the racing was interesting. The following are details of the racing:— SECOND HANDICAP HURDLE RACE, of 5 sovs each, with 200 sovs added; second horse 50 sovs from the stake. About three miles. Mr S. R. Kennedy's h g Pomeroy, by Hilltop—mare by Conqueror, Gyr?, 9sfc 101 b ... ... 1 Mr F. M’Grath’s b g Hereward, by Andover— Beryl, aged, list 9lb ... ••• “ Mr B. Mayo's bg Cape Pigeon, by Albatross— Negress, aged, " Two other horses started.

Alarm Bell was first away, but fell at the back of the course. The others kept well together throughout. Pomeroy took command at the top turn the second time round and, going on, won by a length. Time—6min 2sec. .

ALL-AGED STAKES, of 10 sovs each, with 4 00 sovs added; second horse 50 sovs from the stake. Weigbt-for-age. One mile. Mr W.B. Bobadil was first away, and' quickly establishing a lead of a length, held it, and won by that distance from Merloolas. Time—lmin 41sec.

CITY HANDICAP of 10 sovs each, with 300 sovs added; second horse 50 sovs from the stake. One mile an*, a half. Mr J. Eleusive, closely followed by The Grafter, made the running into the straight from the others, who were all well together. Flodden moved up opposite the stand, and, after a great struggle,- won by a head. Time—2min 38;|scc. EASTEE STAKES, of 10 sovs.each, with 300 sovs added; second horse 50 sovs from the stake. Ormuz piloted the field well into the straight, but Essex came with a great run on the outside, and won by three lengths. Time—lmin 30sec.

CUMBERLAND STAKES, of 10 sovs each, with 400 sovs added; second horse 50 sovs from tho stake. Weight for age. Two miles'. Mr W. Duggan’s b c Amherite, by Carbine Duenna, 3yrs, Pst 21b 1 Mr J. G. Battalion jumped away in front, followed at an interval of a length by Mirella, with Amherite a similar distance behind. Passing the stand Battalion was leading by four lengths. The order was unchanged along the hack, but approaching the top turn Amberite took second place, and, catching the leader opposite the St Leger stand, won by a length and a half from Battalion, who was a length in front of Mirella. The stewards of the Racing Club held a special meeting to-day. There was a small attendance. It was decided not to adopt the proposal of the Secretary to increase the Cup to 1000 sovs.

The Westland Racing Club’s Autumn Meeting was commenced to-day. The weather was fine and the attendance about fifteen hundred, The racing was interesting. Results :

EASTER GIFT, of 70 sovs; one mile and a quarter—Speculator, 9st, 1; Slaiden, Gst 91b, 2; Petroline, 9st 51b, 3, A capital struggle; won by a nose. Dividend—£3 As. HANDICAP HURDLE RACE, of 35 sovs; one mile and three-quarters —Couranto, 9st Gib, 1; Cheque, list 21b, 2; Cyrus 11., ICst 101 b, 3. A protest was lodged against Couranto for crossing. HEATHCOTE PARK RACING CLUB. At the Heathcote Park Racing Club’s meeting held yesterday at Heathcote Racecourse, the principal events resulted as follow;

The racehorses Strathbraan, Ned Kelly, F. 8., Grenadier and the Stepniak-Sincerity colt were sent north by the Rotomahana last night.
