CHRISTCHURCH HOSPITAL.

TO THE EDITOE. Sib, —I quite agree with your correspondent, “ A. Block,” that the Hospital Board made a great mistake in passing over Sister Ewart—not Sister Hewitt, as your correspondent writes—in appointing a matron. This lady has not been in the hospital twenty years—l should' say from my own recoUection that ten would be nearer the mark—but she has shown to me and many 'other ' urifbrtunatoi : patients':‘that' she is a most kindly and competent nurse, and that she has the respcct of the whole-staff, as well as the confidence of the suffering inmates, and T 1 sincerely hope that the Board will not miss its next opportunity to show the public appreciation of a capable and popular member of its staff.—l anL&c.,
