Latest advices from the Soudan state that Mahmud, the Dervish leader, hesitates to attack the British. In the evening he orders an advance, hut next morning countermands it, alleging fears that the Turks are approaching to annihilate his forces. i The Times statesthat the Dervishes will soon be compelled to retire upon Shendy, or fight the British.
