CHAMPIONSHIP REGATTA.

rPBOM OUB CORRESPONDENT.] - DUNEDIN, March 24,

All arrangements for the Championship. Regatta to-morrow are now complete, and the success or- otherwise of the fixture depends entirely upon the weather. Since the rowing men have been here the water has been, generally speaMng, rough, and very little work of any kind has been done. The prospects of getting the championships off to-morrow are remote, and the general opinion amongst rowing men is that the events in best and best boats will have to be decided in the early morning. Considering the few opportunities that have been afforded of watching the crews at work, it is difficult to spot the likely winners. Both Picton and Queen’s Drive have a number of supporters for the Champion Fours, but my own opinion is that the Drive crew will again annex the race. Chapman is reported as safe for the Sculling Championship, while Canterbury should win the Champion Pairs. The Champion Double Sculls is a very open race, but on paper I think M’Grath and Hogan, of the ■ Dunedin Amateur Club, should prove the winners. The Lyttelton crew have made good use of the few opportunities that have .been afforded to get a row, and are much fancied for the Maiden Fourfe „ „, .
