It is rumoured that Sir H. M. Nelson will resign the Premiership and succeed Sir Arthur Palmer as President of the Legislative Council, and that Mr Dickson will reconstruct the Ministry.

Later news from the New Hebrides, shows that Dr Lamb’s mission buildings escaped serious damage from the recent, hurricane. The engines have been re--covered from the wrecked launch Ethel,, bat the hull is smashed up. Dr Lambsails for the group on Friday. ALLEGED FRAUD. MELBOURNE, March 23. A clothing manufacturer named Weenan and a number of his employes have been charged with committing extensive frauds on the Customs by means of a drawback system. AN ASSETS COMPANY. The Supreme Court has sanctioned the formation of an Assets Company to take over the unliquidated assets of the Federal Bank and three other Melbourne financial institutions.
