Poll on Question ft Raising Special Loan o£ £IOOO for the Completion of the System of Water Supply from the River Waimakariri at Brown’s Rock, tor tho Service of the Lands within the Brown’s Bock Subdivision of tho District. T&TOTTCE is hereby given that, ymrsuant to the I\l provisions of the Water Supply Act, 1891, and amendments, the Counties. Act, 18SG, tho Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876, and nil other provisions and authorities in that behalf thereunto enabling— A POLL of the Ratepayers in the Brown’s Rock subdivision of the above district will bo taken on TUESDAY, the 7th day of September, 1897, on the question whether or not the AVaiinakanri-Ashley Water Supply Board be authorised to RAISE a SPECIAL LOAN of £3OOO for the purpose and on tho security hereinafter mentioned : 1. The particular work proposed to ho undertaken is tho completion of the system of water supply from the river Waimakariri, at Brown’s Book, tor tiie service of the lands within the Brown’s Rock subdivision of tho district. 2. The sum proposed to bo borrowed for such purpose is £3OOO. 3. It is proposed to pledge as security for such loan— ! Ist Tho rents, rates and profits derived from the sale, letting and user of water supplied through the said system of water supply, after providing for maintenance, repairs, cost of collecting aud other necessary working expenses. 2nd. A SPECIAL ANNUAL RATE, if required, for the purpose of making up any deficiency, of ONE-TENTH OF A PENNY in the £ on the rateable value of all lands within the Brown’s Rock subdivision of tho district benefited by such work, estimated at 120,000 acres, of a rateable value of £310,'. 00.
