WESLEYAN METHODIST UNION.
THE ACTION OF THE CONFERENCE. [Per Press Association.] MELBOURNE, April 4.
There is great discontent amongst Wesleyan adherents at the action of the Conference in rejecting Methodist union, in opposition to the expressed desire of the majority of members. Many quarterly meetings have adopted strong protests. One added to its protest that if a unionist minister were appointed to the circuit his stipend would be guaranteed, but if a non-unionist were selected no guarantee would be given.
