THE AROWHENUA ESTATE.
The ballot for sections in the Arowhenua rEstate took place yesterday, in the Volunteer Hall, Temuka, The proceedings were . conducted by the Commissioner of Crown 'Lands, assisted by officers of the department and; members of the Land Board, There were in all 771 applications dealt with, but a good number had been struck out the previous day, in terms of the. Act of last session. The ballot started at ten o’clock, find was concluded shortly after twelve o’clock, an average of about three minutes to a section. Allotment 7, Eakitairi settlement, was withdrawn, as all applicants for it had previously been successful. .The following table gives the area of the various lots, number of applicants and name of successful applicant: EAKITAIEI SETTLEMENT.
