[Per Press Association.! AUCKLAND, March 20,
A Maori named Pohohepa was charged at the Police Court this morning with having comnlitted a breach of tho railway regulations by gambling on a train. Defendant said he did not know that ho was breaking the law. Ho .was induced to play with Europeans and lost <£9. When ho got to Mercer he gave information to the police. The Magistrate convicted the defendant and fined him Is, without costs, taking into consideration that lie had been put to expense to come down and attend the Court.
