THE NICARAGUA CANAL. THE ARBITRATION TREATY. [Per Press Association.! WASHINGTON, Jan. 29. Senator Sherman advised the Senate to abandon Mr Morgan’s Nicaragua Canal Bill. He intimated that after Major M’Kinley had entered upon the Presidency on March 4, steps would he taken to secure a treaty providing that America should practically build the canal. Mr Hyman Gage, a Chicago banker, has accepted the Secretaryship o£ the Treasury in Major M’Xinley’s Administration. Jan. 30. Senator Sherman is confident that the Senate will approve the AngloAmerican Arbitration Treaty.
