[Per Press. Association,! , INVERCARGILL, Jan. 29. At the second of the season’s wool, sales’ about 5500 bale’s were pffqred. , The sales seem to have been satisfactory, the lots I passed being few. Good quality half and cross-breds brought last sale prices; medium' and inferior dropped fully a farthing. Fine bright long cross-bred brought up to 81 d. Merino and bellies and pieces were keenly competed for. Strong lustrous cross-bred,, free of * grease, brought 7-®d to BJ,d; sound cross-breds, good quality, 7jd to T Jd;.halfbred, 7d to 75d; merino, 5d to 6.1 d; first pieces cross-bred, 4Jdto 6d ; second pieces cross-bred and locks, to I!id. In the opinion of several buyers, the class of wool was not quite up to the standard of the first sale. ,
