CITY MISSION HOME.
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, —Allow mo, through the medium of your valuable journal, to tender to tho unknown and known friends, Belfast and Islington Freezing Works, butchers, grocers, fruiterers, millers and sympathisers (not forgetting the different Sunday school scholars for their pennies and toys, received from all parts and beyond Canterbury) for their generous help in goods in kind or donations. Ido not think I am. saying too much when I state that I sincerely believe that, through the many charitable organisations, there lias not been overlooked any poor person or child this Christmas. Indeed, it would be hard to find a more charitable and generous public in Now Zealand than tho public of Christchurch and Canterbury. .We bave indeed much to be thankful for. Again, in tho name of tho poor, I do thank all who have so readily assisted me This Christmas. (Prov, xxii., 9.) —I am, &c., . T. HERRICK.
