CO-OPERATIVE SETTLEMENTS.

[Per Press Association.] DUNEDIN, Nov. S. The Hon W. M. Bolt addressed a public meeting to-night on “ Industrial Co-opera-tive Settements.” At its close a motion was carried —“ That it is desirable to form an Industrial Settlement League to obtain all information with regard to such settlements, and disseminate the same ; further, that members of Parliament and the Government be requested to give serious consideration to the matter, with a view to effecting substantial reform in the mode of dealing with surplus and unemployed labour.” Delegates were present from the City and suburban Councils, Workers’ Political Committee, Knights of Labour, Fabian Society, &c., and the Charitable Aid Board gave its patronage.
