IMPORTS AND EXPORTS.
[Pbk Pkess Association.! ■WELLINGTON, Nov. 5. The following is a return of the value of imports at the chief centres for the quarter ended Sept. 30 and the corresponding quarter of the previous year
In the last quarter the value*-, of exports under the heading “aniipals and produce” was A 698,373, as against .£610,■734 for the corresponding quarter of 1895. The value of agricultural products exported last 1 quarter was .£162,433, as against £74,183 for the corresponding quarter of 1895. Mining shows an increased export of £17,000 and forest of £IO,OOO over the September quarter of 1895, but items under the other headings show very little difference in comparison.
