MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.
Nominations closed yesterday for the three vacancies on the St Albans Borough Council. The following gentlemen have nominated: —Messrs W. J. Brooker, T. II Davey, M. Gard’ner, W. C. Hill, C. F. Money, J. Penteney and G. Simpson. The election takes place on Sept. 10. A requisition was presented to Mr Robert Bell yesterday, requesting him to be nominated for the vacancy in the Addington Ward on the'Sydenham Borough Council. Mr Bell has acceded - to tire request?. The -1 nomination of candidates for'the Lyttelton, Linwood andWoolston Borough Councils will close at noon to-day; and those of candidates for the City Council and Sydenham and Sumner Borsugh Councils at noon to-morrow. Councillors Connal and Bunting, the retiring members of the City Council for the North-east and Richmond Wards respectively, do not intend to seek reelection.
Mr W. Langford has been nominated for election for the Richmond Ward on the City Council.
