To supply this omission, the Hon G. Jones, who has charge of the Bill in the Council, intends adding a new clause on the lines indicated. NATIVE MATTERS. According to the Premier’s remarks to ft deputation of Natives which waited on him on Saturday, when the Public Trustee first took office the rents from Native lands only amounted to .£6OOO, and now they amount to .£20,000. Alluding to the decrease in the Maori population, the Premier said that the time had come when the Government should train medical men of the Native race. MISCELLANEOUS.
