FOOTBALL.
TPeb Press Association. ! WELLINGTON, August 31. The members of the Otago team were met on the wharf by the Reception Committee, headed by Sir R. Stout, at whose house they were entertained to tea. They were driven to Island Bay in the afternoon, and in the evening were shown over the Parliamentary Buildings. The team are dissatisfied with the decision of the referee at Christchurch, who they claim should have given a try in their favour, and an appeal will be lodged with the New Zealand Union. It is understood Cran, M’Donald and perhaps others will reinforce the team for the match against Wellington. The match between Akaroa and Little Akaloa, resulted in a win for Akaroa by six points to nil. Buchanan and W. Hemmingway each secured one try. Newbigan, Wright and Helbert played well for Akaroa, W. Craw, Hunter, E. Craw and MTntosh played well for Little Akaloa. The ground was in a very bad state. Mr Nixon, of Christchurch, acted as referee.
