COURSING
AUCKLAND, August 29,
At the Auckland Coursing Club’s meeting to-day, 300 people were present. The finals run off were: — CHAMPION COLLAR STAKES. Winner £25 and silver collar, runner-up £6 10s—Mr J. W. Russell’s dog Shylock, by Padlock—Spruce, beat Mr W. Cavanagh’s dog Linwood, and won the stake.
RECOVERY STAKE. Winner £22, runner-up £6—Mr French’s dog Sequah, by Utah—Busy Bee, heat Mr J. W. Russell’s Romp, by Sir Robert— Eaugipai, and won the stake.
At TattorsaU’s on Saturday the wellknown hunter Ellesmere was offered for sale, and was purchased at £lo by Mr J. Ferguson.
