THE WELLINGTON TOURNAMENT. [Per Press Association-. 1 WELLINGTON, August 30. An inter-island ladies’ golf match -was played at the Hufct yesterday, the South Island winning by 11 holes. The scores were: — South Island —Mesdames Wilder, Holland, Ogston and MacNoil, and Misses Cowlishaw and Webster, 0 each; Miss Rattray, 7; Mesdames Vernon and Stilling, 6 eacli; Mrs M. Campbell, 5; Mrs Ogle and Miss Butterworth, 3 each; Misses Brown and Wynn-Willia;ns, 1 each ; total 32. North Island—Misses S. Johnston, Bodmin, Duncan, Scales, G. Todd, 11. Johnston, G. Rose, Hastie and Cooper, 0 each; Miss L. Wilford and Mrs Climie, 6 each; Mrs Lees and Miss Fitzherbert, 4 each; Miss Wilford, 1; total 21. The chief events in the golf tournament will begin to-morrow.
