CHRISTCHURCH. Saturday, Feb. 22. (Before Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M.) Attempted Suicide. —John Dumphy (on remand) was charged with having attempted to commit suicide at Christchurch oil Feb. 15. Accused was cautioned and discharged, and on his own application an order was made prohibiting licensed persons and others in the Christchurch and surrounding licensing districts from supplying him with intoxicating liquor for a period of twelve months. Unlawfully on Premises. Alfred Gregory alias William Warner was charged with having been found by night without lawful excuse in the grounds of the Christchurch Hospital. Accused, who appeared to be suffering badly from the effects of drink, was remanded till Wednesday next for medical treatment. Maintenance. Henry Woodhill was charged with being the father of an illegitimate child and with fading to contribute towards its support. Mr Cresswell appeared for the complainant, and Mr Weston for accused, who admitted being the father of the child, and - agreed to pay the complainant £5,10s expenses, and 5s a week towards the support of the child. An order was made accordingly.
