A STATE BANK.
TO THE EDITOE. Sie,— Allow me to say that I thoroughly endorse Ebenezer Early’s letter on the
J State Bank, and had Mr C. Lewis not been I opposed to such an institution, and had he 1 been in favour of the re-valuation of land I and several other little things, I should have gone for him bald-headed. I am afraid Mr Lewis has never studied the State bank question, or he would not have j. stated so emphatically that he did not 3 approve of it. With a State bank we need I not borrow outside the colony, but without | such a bank we must either go in for another loan, or we must stagnate, and sink still deeper into depression owing to the cessation of public works. Those who do not want a State bank and prosperity should vote for Mr C. Lewis.—l am, &c., S. B*
