CHRISTCHURCH. Monday, Judy 29, (Before Mr 0. M. Grav, J.P., Mr J. Gapes, J.r., and Mr E. Groan, J.P.) Drunkenness, &cl—-Thomas M’Qovern waa charged with drunkenness on Saturday night, with having resisted Constable Rowell and damaged hia shako to the vsluo of 12s 6J, Ho pleaded guilty, and was fined 5s for drunkenness, 10a for resistance, and ordered to pay for the damage done to the constable’s ehako.—A female first offender was dismissed with a caution. , Alleged Larceny. —Walter Hill was charged with having, about July 22, stolen a pair of trousers, value 6s 6d, the property of Thomas Thompson. Mr Cresswell appeared for the accused, who pleaded not guilty. After hearing the evidence the Bench convicted and discharged the accused. (Before Mr H. W, Bishop, S.M.) Civil Cases. —Judgment was given for plaintiffs by default in the following cases :—Drapery Importing Company, Limited, v. Mrs Farquhar, £7 83 lid; S. Smith v. The Lyttelton Working .Men’s Co-operative Society, £BB 10s Bd, Hr Cresawell for plaintiff. KAIAPOI. Monday, July 29. (Before Mr R. Moore, J.P., and Mr ' C. Hansen, J.P.) Civil Case.— Pattison, a Maori, sued another Native, Henry Urn, for 17s fid damages alleged to have been done by defendant’s horses and cow on March 6 and 29. Green was interpreter, and, after hearing evidence, the Bench gave judgment for plaintiff for 15s and coats.
