DRUIDISM.

The half-yearly meeting of the Oak of Sydenham Lodge was held on Wednesday night, Bro Simpson, A.D., presiding. There was a fair attendance of members. The auditors gave in their report and read the secretary’s balance-sheet, the Sick Fund showing a balance of £1677 3s 3d, this being an increase of £77 3a for the halfyear after payment of all sick claims, which have been over the average this term. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows:—Bro J. Johnston, A.D.; Bro F. George, Y.A.; Bro J. Hadfield, secretary; Bro J. Fisher, treasurer; Bro W. Manhire, M.S.; Bros Alexander and Hulbert, A.D.B.’s; Bros Wright and Beckett, V.A.B.’s; Bro S. Pearce, 1.G.; Bro L. Hansen, 0.G.; Drs Andersop, Thomas and Diamond, Lodge surgeons; Bro W. Logan, auditor. Bro Hooker, assisted by P.D.P. Bro Logan, duly installed tho various officers. It was decided to present Bro E. Beckett with a framed P.A. diploma. The committee appointed to consider the advisablensss of purchasing a section and building a meeting room, gave in its report, which was received, and the trustees were instructed to purchase the section at the corner of Colombo and Gladstone 'Streets recommended by . the committee; the question of erecting a Lodge room to ha considered at a special meeting to be hold in six weeks’ time. One candidate having been initiated, the Lodge was closed. Receipts £9l 6?.
