HORSE SALES. The entry of horses at Tatters all’s on Saturday comprised lOC animals, including a few really good nuggety draughts, for which there was a fair demand, the better classes bsing cleared at from £lB to £25 ss. A few of the better classes of light horses met rather better competition, but inferior and aged sorts were a perfect drug. Of the entry forty-sis were sold at the following prices :—Best heavy draughts £lB to £25 ss, good useful young farm horses £l3 to £l6, aged and inferior sorts £3 to £9, good hack and light harness horses £9 to £ls, medium do £4 10a to £7, aged and weedy animais 15s to £2, At the Rangiora monthly market on Friday there wore forty-five horses on offer, a fair number of which were disposed of at the following prices:— Good heavy draughts £l4 10s to £l9 10a, lighter sorts £9 to £l4, unbroken draughts £lO to £l3, good hacks and light harness horses £7 10s to £l2 10s, inferior animals £2 10s to £5. PIG AND POULTRY SALES. Pigs came forward in large numbers at the sales on Saturday, the supply of stores of all sizes being greatly in excess of the demand. Baconers sold fairly well, but porkers were not much sought after. Entries of poultry were very large, the riso in the price of wheat causing holders to be anxious to part with all surplus stock. Soma very nice young roosters were well competed for, bat the aged hons ware hard to dispose of. Some very fine turkeys were on offer, and sold at up to 17s per pair. The following aro prices current:—Pigs—Baconers from 24s to 30s, porkers 12a Gd to 20s, fair-sized stores 8s to 12s 6J, woaners 2a 6d to C-. Poultry— Best roosters 2s 6d to 3a 9d, poorer sorts la 3d to 2s, beet pullets 2s to 2s 9d, inferior Is 6d to Is lOd, hens la 3d, Is 6d to 2a 3d, according to quality, ducks 2s 6d to 4s, turkeys sa, 12a Gd to 17s, geese 3s 6d to ss, all at per pair. LEESTON, There was a fair attendance at the fortnightly sale at the Lseston Tarda on Friday, and a good clearance waa made. The entries comprised 1200 sheep, mostly stores, 500 pigs, and a few head of cattle. Fut cross-bred wethers brought up to 11s, good forward turnipars up to 8s 6d, crossbred breading ewes in lamb up to 7s Gd, and lambs up to 6s Gd. Fat cattle brought at the rate of 20s per 1001 b for good steer beef and 19a for cow beef. A line of three-year-old steara sold at £4 10s. Pigs brought up to 40a for bosh baconers, up to 25a for good porkers, from 15a to 20a for forward stores, and from 2a r ;;d to 6s Gd for weanera. *
