Bates. —In loving memory of Johanna Bates, tho dearly beloved wife of John Bates, who departed this life the 19th of April, 1894, at her residence, ■ Creyke Street, off South Belt, Christchurch* aged fifty-four years. E.I.P. Mother’s gone, but not forgotten, Never shall her memory fade; Sweetest thoughts shall ever linger. Around the spot where she is laid. Dear mother, we did love you. And in Heaven with joy to greet her, Where no farewell tears are shed.
