MEETING OF RATEPAYERS.
The annual meeting of ratepayers ia the East Malvern Road district was held in the office of the Board oa Tuesday. There was a good attendance, and Mr F. Bull, chairman of the Board proaided. The balance-sheet showed receipts during the year to have been—From general rates £317 16a 4d, rent of reserves £7 17a 6d, subsidy on rates £B6 2s 3d, rent of room £3O 7s 6d, Solwysr County Council for destruction of small birds £1 5s sd, pound fees £6 8«; total £329 17s. Expenditure, debtor balance March 31, 1894, £4l 2s 9d, roads and bridges £lßl 12s, salaries £43 12s 6d, office expenses £6, printing »nd advertising £7 5s lOd, miscellaneous £46 14s lOd, with a balance in hand of £X 9a Id; total £329 17s. Tho accounts were adopted as read, subject to the approval of the auditor. As the leasaa of a number of gravel reserves in tha district expire during the present month, considerable discussion ensued as to their management ia the past, and a resolution recommending tho incoming Board to have them let by tender for a period of fourteen years was passed. After a vota of thanks to the chairman, the meeting terminated.
