AUCKLAND NEWS.
[Per Press Association.! AUCKLAND, March 9. The Auckland Polo Club in a match with the Kihikihi Club defeated the latter by thirteen points to nil. The former club held a series of sports to-day at Potter’s paddock. There was a good attendance. Lord Glasgow and party from Government House and the officers from the warships in port were present. At a meeting of the City Rifle Companies the City and Victoria Rifles, which had contemplated disbanding, decided to go on as the new regulations were more practicable and less exacting. tioorga Norman, alias Charles Johnston, has been committed for trial at Whangarei on a charge of forgery.
