Sia, —In reply to " Dealer’s ” letter in the Lyttelton Times of March 1,1 should like to state had "Dealer” made a closer inspection he would have found only two auction rooms are closed on a Thursday, viz., one in Colombo Street and one in Lichfield Street. I have heard it said by the one in Colombo Street that they would keep open their business on Thursday and close on Saturday if required by their customers. If the one did this the others would follow.—l am, &c.,
