WORK AND WAGES.

The usual weekly meeting of the executive of the New Zealand Workers’ Union was held at the head office, Waimate, ou Saturday evening. Mr Brown occupied the chair. Correspondence was dealt v.ith from the Hon W. P. Reeves respecting the labour laws. From the Government Labour Department in respect to tip© Masters and Apprentices Bill. From Tapanai, Gore, Wintoa, Waikaia, Titnaru, Hskateramea, Marlborough, Fairlie Creek, Ashburton, Rakaia, Camara and Riverton reporting progress. From the Dunedin and Wellington Trades and Labour Councils promising to render evory assistance in the establishment of branches of the Workers’ Union at the cities mentioned. After dealing with matters of a routine nature the meeting ended.
