The Otarama has returned to Gravesend with the loss of her main-top-mast, and severe damage to her hows, caused by a collision with a sailing vessel in the Channel. Carnoll, fell into the water when going on board the Corinna at Napier on Saturday. Bopes and buoys were thrown to him, but he appeared dazed and took no notice of them. One of the people on the launch eventually jumped over and rescued him. NELSON, Oct. 1. On Saturday evening a fatal accident happened, whereby Mrs Ogilvie, an old resident here, seventy-six years of age, was killed. She fell over the sea wall on the Haven Boad, and falling into the water, it is thought she dislocated her neck. An inquest will be held. A small settler living near Timaru, James Nash, a single man, forty-five years of age, was found dead last evening in a paddock where he had beep working.
