AUCKLAND NEWS.
[Per Press Association.l AUCKLAND, Sept. 30. Another woman, Sarah Homo, has been committed for trial for keeping a disorderly house. At the first meeting of the Central Council of the Labour aud Liberal organisations there was a good attendance of delegates. Mr Wilding was in the chair, as chairman of the conference from which the Council had emanated. The objects of the Council and the rules for its guidance recently drawn up were adopted, with one or two slight amendments in the rules. The objects agreed upon were as ’follow:—(a) To confer upon any proposed legislation affecting the people; (b) to arrange a platform apon which combined action may be taken to ensure Labour and Liberal representation for the Auckland Province; (c) to consider any matter brought before fcfce Council by »n affiliated organisation; (d) to make a final choice of candidates for Parliament nominated by the affiliated organisations, each one of which shall have” the right of nominating candidates, .provided that if the affiliated organisations do not nominate sufficient candidates the Council may proceed to choose one or more candidates to make up the required number. Mr Wilding was elected chairman.
