LETTER FROM ONE OF EAAFfI EANGhES. [Pee Pbbbs Association.] WELLINGTON, Apeij. 4. Harold Melville, one of Eaaf's Bangers, in a letter from Matabeleland to hie father, after stating that terrible havoc was done with the Maxim guns, and that had it not been for them the British party would have been cut to pieces, writes « “ Of course you have.heard of the fate oS Major Wilson and his party. Well, my idea of it is that Major Forbes was to blame, because I was standing alongside Major Wilson when Forbes ordered him off in pursuit of lo Bengula. ‘Major Forbes/ said Major Wilson, *do you know that you are sending us to certain death ? * Major Forbes turned round and said, ‘You have your orders—go.* Ten minutes after Major Wilson and his men were crossing the rivet, and that was the last we saw of them.”
