Eangiatea was associated with Dilemma over two miles at half-pace, while Skirmisher Cantered. Mount Boysl and Aldershot; galloped two miles fast. Forbnry beat Jack Harkaway over a mile, and Empire had the better of Mariner over a mile and a quarter. Captive beat Mountain Maid over seven furlongs... Other horses working before breakfast were Ambush, Leona, Darby, Galtae, Francotte, Casket, and Claremont. At the meeting of the Dunedin Jockey Club tbe Hon G. M’Leon reported that he had arranged with Mr Cress well to start at the autumn meeting. In reference to the late arrival of the nomination of Melinite for the Flying Handicap, it was reported that a telegram, addressed to the Secretary of the Dunediu Jockey Club, was, by the mistake of the ■ telegraph messenger, left on the premises of the 'Drapery Importing Company. UFlindera was nearly meeting with a serious accident at Ashburton whilst exercising on the course on Monday morning. He had finished hia work and the boy waa waiting near the iron gate whilst bis stable companion was finishing dressing. Flinders ployed up and kicked his hind legs through the iron gate, giving himself a severe cut or two. He is not seriously lame.
