THE BURWOOD TRAGEDY.
DEATH OP THE MAYOE. [Special to Peebs Association.] SYDNEY, Feb 13. Three loaded revolvers ware found on Eedfern’s body. He 'had frequently threatened to shoot the Mayor, having of late conceived a strong dislike for him. Paisley had just concluded his term of office yesterday, and came to the Council chambers to prepare his report, Eedfern had previously expressed hia determination not to assist him in preparing the report, and had destroyed all the minutes of the Council’s meetings since the Municipality was created, and all accounts to date.
Mayor Paisley, who was shot at Bur. wood, has succumbed to hia wounds. At the inquest on the body of Eedfern, who shot him, a verdict of suicide while temporarily insane was returned.
