ARIEL BICYCLE CLUB. The Ariel Bicycle Club held its second annual meeting at Ashburton yesterday. The afterncoa was line but cold, and a, strong Eou’-west wind marred the sport to come extent. The attendance was good, but not bo large as it waa last year. The following are results One-mile Maiden Handicap ; prizes X2 and Xl—>W. J. Allen 90yds, 1; W. Wcoda 95yds, 2; .T. T. Andrews 80yds, 3. Wilson aho started. Boyd’s tyre bn rat before half a mile bad been covered, but he quickly remounted another machine, and tba other competitors waiting on him he joined them ia the second mile. Tha pace was then made fast, Boyd, Clarkson and Lawia leading alternately. Lewis just managed to boat Boyd by about half a yard, Clarkson close up third.
