SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

Tbo ordinary monthly meeting of the Doyleaton School Committee was held on Tuesday;; present Messrs J. Eennie, (Chairman), Eigby, Kissel, Mouldey and S. C. D»yle. The master’s report shewed that 29 new scholars had been admitted, the average attendance was 121, and the number on tbo roll 151, the percentage of attendance baing 80 - l. Owing to the increase in attendance the Committee unanimously resolved to ask the Education Board to appoint a fourth teacher, as woi.l as to enlarge the infant room. Miss Stewart, of Kyle school, wrote stating that she would bo able to commence her duties on Jan. 2. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr S. C. Owen and all those who had assisted at the annual concert. It was decided to follow the eame plan as last year as regards holidays. A holiday was also granted for Dee. 15. The monthly meeting of the Aanat School Committee was held on Tuesday-; present—Messrs Keys (Chairman), Graham, Halladay, Saarle and M’Kae. The master’s report showed the number of children on the roll to. be 68, and the average attendance 53-7. The Inspector’s report was considered very satisfactory, and a resolution thanking and complimenting the teachers was passed. It was resolved to hold a concert and dance on Jau. 1, in aid of the prize fund. A letter from Mr Haddrill regarding the disposition of the das medal was read, but the Committee decided to uphold the Inspectors’ award.
