{Tan Puces Association.! WELLINGTON, Dec. 6. Four of the championship events m connection with the 'Wellington Amateur Athletic Club were decided on the Basin Deserve this evening. About six hundred persons ware present. The grass track was heavy, owing to tbe recent rain. The results were as follow : W. Wyayard 1, A. M. Stewart 2, L. Harley 3. These wore the only s alters. Won by sis yards. Time —28|.-jec. 440yds Hurdles;—F. Pownali 1, W. Gore 2, G. Johnston 8. These were the only starters. Pownali led from start to finish, and woa easily by three yank. Time—66|see, Three-mile Elat*—C. D. Morpeth 1, C. W. Palmer 2. G. S. Hill and H. Lawlow also (started, but tha latter gave up at the ead of three-quarters of a mile. Morpeth made the pace* from the fall of the flag, and finished she first mile in Smiu Baec, with Palmar fifty yards away, and Hill thirty yards behind Palmer. Hill give up shortly after this. Morpeth continued to increase hia lead, and when two miles had been left behind in lOrain 57sec ho was nearly four hundred yards in front of Palmer. Morpeth, centinnirg to run in grand style, won by exx hundred yards, and finished amid cheers. Time—lsmiu 59sec. Halfmile Flat —A. M. Stewart 1, G, N. Goldie 2, F. Harley 3. F. Pownali and H. G. Anderson also raa. Goldie led until fifty yards from the tape, when Stewart came with a wet sail and won by three yards. Time—-Stain lljsec. In the Three-mile Flat Championship this afternoon Morpeth best the standard time for the Ooloay by one second, and considering the 'heavy state of the ground it was a great perforin ance.
