A CO-OPERATIVE ENTERPRISE

The steamer Eowona, which has been laid up here foe some time past, has been chartered by a commercial syndicate to rua regularly between Cheviot, Lyttelton, and Wellington. The investors comprise Captain Hayes (formerly of tbe Pelham and Herald;, whs will take command ; Mr Hunter (iata chief engineer of the Wukatu); Mr Clarke, provsdore; and Mr NVaves, who will act as mate. They intend •working tbe vessel on tha co-operative principle, and are sancuine as to their prospects. The vessel is now undergoing a thorough overhaul.
