MASONIC.

THE CHRISTCHURCH LODGE, No. 91, N.Z.G. The newly-founded Masoaio Lodge, with the above name and number, under the Now Zealand Constitution, which h&a been formed chiefly from among Freemasons of the Scottish Constitution in Christchurch, was consecrated iast night. The ceremony took place in the St Augustine Masonic Hall; the consecrating and installing officer—in the absence of the 31. "W. Grand Master, Bro Malcolm . Niccol being R.W. Bro C. P. Hulberfc, D.G. Superintendent for Canterbury, assisted by the officers of tbo Grand Lodge of New Zealand, Great interest was taken in the event, it being the first of the kind that has taken place in Canterbury, and during the proceedings s, telegram of congratulation was received from the Grand Master. Thera was an attendance of one hundred, including members of several other Constitutions. The ceremony of consecration haying been performed with the accustomed solemnities, the installation of the first Master of the Lodge and investment ot the officers were proceeded with by the D.G. Supsiiotendent, who received the assistance of W. Bros Hardy, Thomson. (P.G.M.) and Bishop. The W.M. snd officers tor the ensuing year are;—W.M., Bro John Hudson; 8.W., Bro Daniel Round; J.W., pro J. T. Henderson ; D.M., Bro W, I'. M’Laau (P.M.); Treasurer, Bto C. J. Marshall; Secretary, Bro W. E, Gahagaa ; S.D., Bro T. Eemsworth; 3.D., Bro J. Bell; 1.G., Bro G. Ferguson; D.C., Bro J. Hughes; Tyler, Bro A. Gae. The ceremonies throughout were carried out in a very able manner, and were given great effect by the manner in which the appropriate anthems, orles, &c., specially prepared for the occasion by Bra Millar, were sung by the St Augustine choir, under the direction of Bro E. T. Sesrell, D. organist. A banquet followed, at which the usual toasts were honoured, tbe various speeches •having a strongly congratulatory tone, and harmony prevailing.
