TO TEE. EDITOR. Sis,—ln your issue of yesterday, over the signature of “ Cava Csnem,” appears a lattes advising the inhabitants oi Oxford to lay informations against the breakers of the law. If the" eonatible is “■ willing and able” to bring offenders before the authorities, why then is it not done ? The place where the disgraceful exhibition is said to have taken jilace is within tan chains of the constable's house, almost in front of the principal polling-place, where, if anywhere, wa might expect the police to be represented on polling night. We are not too busy iu this district, but ■we certainly are too busy to form ourselves into a Vigilance Committee. Wo might have to remind the constable when his salary became due as well as other matters. We are patiently- looking forward to the time when your correspondent’s advice will not ba needed. —I am, &c., SGEIBB.
