[Special to Pbhss Association.] MELBOURNE, August 9. _ Bungobah has been scratched for the Caulfield Cup. EIOCARTON TRAINING NOTES, Wednesday. The morning was bright and balmy, and tbe tracks are rapidly drying. Justice, St Ba ba and Moitke, who were first to commence, cantered once round, while Awarua Rose and Melusioa galloped a similar distance fast. Clyde covered two rounds at a slow pace, and so did Norton, while The Idler finished in front of Fire King in a strong gallop over a mile and a-half. Eria-go-Bragh, Vogeagang and Sbelah galloped once round fast, but Clarence was restricted to slow exercise twice round. Stranger covered two rounds at a strong pace, Master Royal and Wayland a similar distance slowly, and Jack and Balquifcher ono round jumping the hurdles. Jaffa worked steadily. Despised covered two rounds slowly, while Tiritea negotiated a similar distance, jumping the hurdles. Empire and Bida-a-Wee covered one round steadily and another faster, after which Empire went on for one round by himself at a steady pace. Rebel cantered, and R .seguar i covered two rounds steadily, while Royal strode over half that distance, finishing at top. Mutiny, Waterbary and Unity were each restricted to long cantering exercise. Smuggler, looking bright and well, covered two rounds steadily, while Kulniue accomplished similar esercise to that meted out to the South Canterbury representative. Cassandra and Wildfire were associated in a strong,gallop once round, while Solomon had Jos Sedley for a companion in similar exorcise; and Galtee had the assistance of Eothamsted for the last six furlong? of a strong gallop of rath-*r more than a mile and a half. Black Hawk and Dunoon covered once round at a strong pace, snd Jacob twice that distance, jumping the unali post and rail fences. Kt uat Cook was schooled over the big fences, Bell Bird joining in over the hurdles, while Amalgam was schooled over the fences, and Perkin beat Muckroes in a strong gallop once round. CANTERBURY JOCKEY CLUB. The Giand National Meeting of the Canterbury Jockey Club will be commenced at Riccarton to-day. At tbe time cr writing the weather appears likely to be fine, and the north-wester which blew yesterday has had a moat beneficial effect upon the course. Fa rly large numbers of visitors have arrived in Christchurch from other portions cf tbe Colony, and tho very attractive cord is quite sufficient to ensure moat interesting racing.
