BANDS OF HOPE.

The first anniversary of the St George’s Band of Hope, Kirwee, was held in the Temperance Hall, on Wednesday evening. The chair was occupied by the Eev H. Collins, A programme of songs, duets, rounds and recitations was well carried out by Mosdames Croskill and Simpson, Misses Meredith, Drummond and Stewart, Messrs Belgrave, Hitchens, Portbury and Wilson. The Chairman also assisted. The Hon Secretary read his annual report, which stated that there were fifty-five members, and that the Band had a balance in hand of £1 2e 3d. The Eev H. Collins was re-elected President, Messrs Belgrave and Andersou Vice-Presidents, and Mr Portbury Hon Secretary and Treasurer. Meadamea Wilson, Croskill and Simpson, Messrs Simpson, Hitchens and Wilson were elected a Committee. On Wednesday a largely-attended meeting of the Bible Christian Band cf Hope was held at Belfast. An excellent programme was given, consisting of songs by Mrs Quintreli, Mrs Craig, Misses Carpenter and Baker, duets by Misses Gimblett (2) and Lindsay, a song by Mr Shearsby, and readings by Mrs Pateman, Messrs Craig and Shearsby and the Chairman, the Eev P.
