SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

The usual monthly meeting of the Doylestoa School Committee was held on Tue day ; present—Messrs Rennie (Chairman), Rigby, Foster, Rickel, Mouldey and Kio-eU The master’s report showed an average attendance of 112, the number on the roll being 127, being the best month’s attendance this year. Tenders were opened for the position of caretaker, and Mrs Rickel was reappointed for another year. Correspondence was read from the Education Board forwarding half the cost of new artesian well. Final arrangements were made for Arbor Day, and after passing accounts amounting to £52 18s Id, the meeting closed. The monthly meeting of the New Brighton School Committee was hell on Tuesday night; present—Messrs Winny (Chairman), Hawker, Wilson, Proctor, Softm and M'>or (Secretary).
