HOME WORK.
TO THS EDITOR. Sir,—l have jusr been reading a letter in your i?aue of to-day signed “One Who Has Sofifered/’ I think there are many who suffer from the same cause, viz., excessive homework for members of the family attending school. I fail to see the use of constantly talking over this matter at Committee meetings. Many Committeemen have no children attending school, and others have not taken the trouble to read the Education Act and cannot possibly know or care what they are elected for. If, on the one hand, we allow our children to , attend half-time we ava within the Act. If, on the other hand, we allow them to attend full time, and also to do school work at home, we are beyond it. Therefore homework is optional, and the parent haa the remedy in his own hands.— lam, ic.; JOHN WHALL.
