IMPERIAL POLITICS.

[Special to Press Association.]

LONDON, July 81,

Mr Ben Tillett suggests that in future Liberal Unionists should sit on the opposite side of the House to the Irish Ministerialists, which arrangement, he contends, would prevent the recurrence of a scene such as that witnessed in the Chamber last week.

On the Speaker’s invitation Messrs Fisher and Logan expressed their regret, and apologised to the House for provoking the fracas which occurred in the Chamber on Thursday, Mr Gladstone will therefore dispense with the Committee of Enquiry which he proposed to set up. August 1.

Lord Jersey has declined the Presidency of the Agricultural Commission.
