MEETING OF CREDITORS.
THOMAS BROOKS. The first meeting of creditors of ThomM Brooks, hotel-keeper, of Hilltop, Barry’s Pass, was to have been held yesterday. At the time appointed, there being no quorum, the Official Assignee adjourned the meet* ing till 10 a.m. to-morrow. The following is the statement of assets and liabilities «—• Unsecured creditors, £lB6 19s; secured creditors, .£IOOO (less estimated value of securities, £1900; surplus, £9OO. Assets—* Book debts, £3O (estimated to produce £3O, being wages due from the Golden Gate Goldmining Company); £5 cash la hand, being five £1 shares in the above M fully paid up; surplus over securities in the hands of secured creditors, £9OO ; total assets, £935; surplus, £748 la. Secured creditors—Hope (per Mr Tripp, solicitor, Timaru) £800; Maling and Co., second mortgage, £2OO. In addition, Maling and Co. hold collateral security over mining machinery, Culliasville, Marlborough, worth about £BOO. Unsecured creditors—Maling and Co., £144 19s; Harper and Co., £33; Naihelski and Of>,, £6 ; G. M’Olatchie and Co,, £3 6s fid t F, Thrower, 13s fid; total, £lB6 19a.. Property—Hilltop Hotel, with 24 acres- of land, valued at £I2OO, and a-dwelling and shop in Christchurch, containing ten rooms, valued at £400; total, £I6OO.
