ARIEL BICYCLE GLUE’S MEETING. The first race meeting of this Club was held yesterday on the Ashburton Domain track. Tho weather was perfect, and the racing was of a very interesting character. About 1500 persona were on the ground. Onc-balf of the net proceeds will go to tho Queensland flood relief fund. The following are the results : One-mile Maiden Handicap; first prize, iS2; second, A I.—H. 11. Thorne, A.8.C., 25yda, 1; J. Osbourne, N.Z.G.AB.C,, 85yda,2; A. G. Williams, J.8.C., 25yds, 3. Four others started. Won easily by twenty yards. Time—Safin 54|sac. 150yds Handicap Foot Race; first prize, £2; second, JBl, First heat: R. Todd, 12yds, 1; F. F. Wright, scr, 2. Won by ten yards. Tima heat: C. Henry, 2yds, 1; M. T. Healy, 12yds, 2. Won by a yard. Time —IGjJ-eec. Final heat: C. Henry, 2yda, 1; R. Todd, 12yds, 2; M. T. Healy, 12yds, 3. Won by a foot, after a good race. Tims—l6|-sec. Half-mile Bicycle Race Handicap; first prize, .£2 10s ; second, £1 ; third, 10s.— First heat: A. R. Barker, N.Z.C.A.8.C., 50yds, 1; T. Clarkson, N.Z.C.A.8.C., 20yds, 2; W. S. M’Combe, Victoria, scr, 3. Three others started. Barker won by about ten yards, M’Combe closo up. Time—lmia ISJ-seo. Second heat: A. Joss, N.Z.C.A.8.C., 4oyds, 1; J. Young, Victoria, 65yds, Sj T. Richards, N.Z.C.A.8.0., 60yds, 3. Two others started. Won by about twelve yards. Time—lmia 16-350. Final heat—A. Joss, 45yds, 1; J. Young, 65yde, 3 j T. Clarkson, 20yds, 3. Three others started. Won very easily, Clarkson just beating M’Gombo on tho tape for third place. Time—-loan 14?-acc. One-mile Bicycle Handicap; first prize, JC2 10s; second, Ail; third, 10s.—E, J. Lilly, N.Z.C.A 8.C., 30yds, 1; A. R. Barker, N.Z.C.A.8.0., 70yds, 2; T. Glurkson, N.Z.C.A.8.0., 40yd:;, 3. Sevan others started. A very good race. Tims—2miu 32sco, Grand Invitation Scratch Race; first prize, £u; second, A 3 j third, Al.—John Boyd, Christchurch, 1 ; W. S. M’Combe, Victoria, 2; T. Clarkson, Christchurch, 3. Lilly, Young and Duff also started. Lilly won the lap prize cf A 1 for first in most laps. Lilly red for half tho distance, and then M’Combe went to the front, but Boyd getting up iu tho last lap, won by about fifteen yards. Tima—--smin 29ssc. Two-mile Roadster Handicap; first prize, A2 10s; second, Al; third, 10s.—A. Joss, N.Z.C.A.8.C., 140yds, 1; A. G. Williams, J.8.C., 240yds, 2; Q. IT. Forbes, N.Z.C.A.8.C., 240yds, 3. Four others started. Joss won vary easily. Time—--smin 49;ec. 250yds FootEace; firstprize, A2; second, Al.—C. Henry, 7yds, 1; J, M’Naught, 20yds, 3 ; R. Todd, 20yds, 3. 'Three others started. Won on the tape. Time—2Ssec. Three-mile Roadster Race; first prize, A 3; second, Al 10.3; third, AL—J. Boyd, N.Z.C.A.8.C., scr, 1 ; E. J. Lilly, N.Z.C.A.8.G., 70yds, 2; T. Clarkson, N.Z.C.A.8.C.. 100yds, 3. Four others started. Splendid race. Boyd won by a foot, after a splendid finish in tho lust lap. Time—Bmin 14fscc. One-miie Members A.B.C. Race; first prize, A2; second, AL—E. J. Craighead, 95 t vds, 1; J. Forbes, scr, 2; J. Burns,
