. ASSOCIATED RIFLE CORPS. Oa Saturday, oa the Bromley range, the Associated Corps decided who should hold tho challenge trophy for tho year, offered by tho Range Committee. The B Battery carried off the honour, proving themselves to ho the best shots, not having suffered a defeat in any of tho eight ruatcUes. As will be seen below, their average ig higher than any of the other corps, the College Rifles coming second, only naving suffered defeat from the Battery. This series of matches has done much to organise tho rifle matches, each of the five corps having fired twice with each Company, a result never attained before. The matches on Saturday were E Battery' v. City Guards, the former proving victorious ty sixty-eight points; tho other match was College Rifles v. Christchurch Rifles, the former, after a very close matpb, winning by thirteen points. Appended are the results of the matches:— . K. A match took place on the Lyttelton range on Saturday afternoon, between the Lyttelton Naval Artillery and' tha Scottish Eiflep. Tbo weather, being very cold, waa against good shooting, and the wind was strong from the southwest. Unfortunately, two men from each team were unable to finish owing to darkness setting in.
