SUICIDE.

[Pss Prices Association.] AUCKLAND, March 13. Mr William 0. F. Cashel, clerk in tho Colonial Mutual Life Office, committed suicide on Sunday in Syraonds street, where fca resided with hia mother. He waa found, ■by hia brother, lying in bed with, a gaping wound in his throat. The deceased, when asked what waa wrong, ivplied that he was miserable. It is stated tnat ho had made two previous attempts on his life, first by laudanum find secondly by an attempt to puncture his heart with two bonnet pins. He was taken to tho hospital, and died soon afterwards. The Colonial Mutual officials state that deceased’s accounts have been found correct. At the inquest to-day the Jury returned a verdict of felo de se.
